Career in Ayurveda

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

There is a quickly growing trend out there, and if you haven't yet heard about it, you will soon. As more and more people look for the best ways to get their body to a healthy place, holistic treatments are gaining steam. Individuals are figuring out that there are some really nice ways to improve your health that don't involve waiting around in a doctor's office or purchasing expensive pills. What are these measures? Specifically, people are trying out Ayurveda to change their approach significantly.

Most people are trying to achieve Panchakarma, a state where their body is in complete harmony. They are doing this by getting Ayurvedic massage treatments and full body workouts. The idea is to promote relaxation of the highest order. When most folks think about getting a massage, they are intent on getting rid of their stress and also relieving some of the pain in their muscles.

Ayurveda Schools

Ayurveda training is founded on the principles of preventing disease, treating disorders, and bringing the body into balance. Ayurveda schools educate students about ayurveda sciences, which are comprised of many alternative health sciences, but focus primarily on Ayurvedic techniques and practices.

Ayurveda school tuitions range between $1,000 and $2,000 per semester. Ayurveda school certification takes approximately one to two years to complete on a part-time basis. There are currently no licensing requirements for Ayurveda practitioners, however a group of practitioners and instructors are in discussions to create state and national professional associations focused on licensing and certification requirements of Ayurveda practices.

A big scientific research is being conducted now. This research confirms the hypothesis of ancient doctors about the ageing processes in the organism, which lead to different diseases. Research is being conducted in the area of oncology and allergology, the methods of controlling allergic reactions and stimulating the immune system are being studied.

Study shows that ancient science, which was mostly led by intuitiveness, came to the same conclusions. Modern scientists with Western education use the knowledge of Ayurveda, after adapting it to the modern circumstances. For example, different herb preparations are created more efficiently by using herb extracts, instead of pure herbs.

Alternative health techniques and complementary medicine have gained in popularity in recent years as people seek natural solutions to improve overall health.

Today, there is also a wider acceptance by the traditional medical community, which until recently had been skeptical of the benefits. In fact, many are accepted and even incorporated to treat a variety of illnesses and conditions.

Most complementary practitioners have a multilevel view of human illness - Disease and illness are believed to be a result of a variety of disturbances which can be from any or all of the following inputs:

Physical, psychological, social, and spiritual.

Monday, September 21st, 2009

Adult education has become common in many countries. It takes on many forms, ranging from formal class-based learning to self-directed learning and e-learning. A number of career sppecific courses such as veterinary, medical billing and coding, real estate license, bookkeeing and many more are now available to students through the Intern Alternative education

Main article: Alternative education

Alternative education, also known as non-traditional education or educational alternative, is a broad term that may be used to refer to all forms of education outside of traditional education (for all age groups and levels of education). This may include not only forms of education designed for students with special needs (ranging from teenage pregnancy to intellectual disability), but also forms of education designed for a general audience and employing alternative educational philosophies and methods.

Alternatives of the latter type are often the result of education reform and are rooted in various philosophies that are commonly fundamentally different from those of traditional compulsory education. While some have strong political, scholarly, or philosophical orientations, others are more informal associations of teachers and students dissatisfied with certain aspects of traditional education[citation needed]. These alternatives, which include charter schools, alternative schools, independent schools, and home-based learning vary widely, but often emphasize the value of small class size, close relationships between students and teachers, and a sense of community[citation needed].

Indigenous education

Increasingly, the inclusion of indigenous models of education (methods and content) as an alternative within the scope of formal and non-formal education systems, has come to represent a significant factor contributing to the success of those members of indigenous communities who choose to access these systems, both as students/learners and as teachers/instructors.

As an educational method, the inclusion of indigenous ways of knowing, learning, instructing, teaching and training, has been viewed by many critical and postmodern scholars as important for ensuring that students/learners and teachers/instructors (whether indigenous or non-indigenous) are able to benefit from education in a culturally sensitive manner that draws upon, utilizes, promotes and enhances awareness of indigenous traditions.[2]

For indigenous students or learners, and teachers or instructors, the inclusion of these methods often enhances educational effectiveness, success and learning outcomes by providing education that adheres to their own inherent perspectives, experiences and worldview. For non-indigenous students and teachers, education using such methods often has the effect of raising awareness of the individual traditions and collective experience of surrounding indigenous communities and peoples, thereby promoting greater respect for and appreciation of the cultural realities of these communities and peoples.

In terms of educational content, the inclusion of indigenous knowledge, traditions, perspectives, worldviews and conceptions within curricula, instructional materials and textbooks and coursebooks have largely the same effects as the inclusion of indigenous methods in education. Indigenous students and teachers benefit from enhanced academic effectiveness, success and learning outcomes, while non-indigenous students/learners and teachers often have greater awareness, respect, and appreciation for indigenous communities and peoples in consequence of the content that is shared during the course of educational pursuits.[3]

A prime example of how indigenous methods and content can be used to promote the above outcomes is demonstrated within higher education in Canada. Due to certain jurisdictions' focus on enhancing academic success for Aboriginal learners and promoting the values of multiculturalism in society, the inclusion of indigenous methods and content in education is often seen as an important obligation and duty of both governmental and educational authorities.[4]

[edit] Curriculum

Main articles: Curriculum and List of academic disciplines

An academic discipline is a branch of knowledge which is formally taught, either at the university, or via some other such method. Functionally, disciplines are usually defined and recognized by the academic journals in which research is published, and by the learned societies to which their practitioners belong.[citation needed] Professors say schooling is 80% psychological, 20% physical effort.[citation needed]

Each discipline usually has several sub-disciplines or branches, and distinguishing lines are often both arbitrary and ambiguous. Examples of broad areas of academic disciplines include the natural sciences, mathematics, computer science, social sciences, humanities and applied sciences.[5]

PRE SCHOOL: A wonderful world of fantasy- kkblr.com

Sunday, September 20th, 2009

Preschool is basically a place which provides preschool education for very young children, and it is generally considered as being an included part of early childhood education; preschool in North America is generally provided in a variety of different settings, and it is also known by many as kindergarten

Preschool education means that parents and teachers cooperate in providing the best possible environment for the growth and development of young children. Children learn from experience and by imitation. A good program of Preschool education considers the whole child-his physical, mental and social welfare.

Preschool schools must be staffed by skillful and well-trained teachers. Pre-school class is non-compulsory education designed to stimulate each child's development and learning, and provide a platform for their future schooling. The teacher’s role is to engage with the children in the class. If the teacher turns out to be one of your favorites, you can ask to contact the teacher (live meeting, by phone, or email) and request another visit during “free play time” to closely observe the teacher.

Pre-school generally runs between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm similar to school hours although this may vary by state and by service so check with the provider

Preschool Education Provides

Child’s physical growth.

Preventive and remedial health measures.

Good health habits.

Outdoor activity.

Rest and sleep periods.

Forming satisfactory toilet habits.

Parent participation in Preschool school.

Showing an eager interest in the world about him, free from unnecessary fears and inhibitions.

The teacher is the one who will be spending the most time with your child and helping him or her develop socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually for Pre – school

Education

Selection Process

Preschools set up tour appointments during the school year. (Open registration can start as early as the January before the next fall term.) Some preschools have waiting lists, so it’s never too early to start touring. Call at least five preschools and set appointments for tours. Make sure your selected preschools include a mix of programs (Developmental, Academic, Play-based, and Montessori.)

It is completely different teaching 3’s versus 4’s, so make sure the teacher teaching your child’s age group has experience with that age.

If all the teachers have only been at the preschool a short period of time, it may indicate some issues with the program. If they have been there for some time, it indicates they are valued by those who run the program. If a teacher has been there a very long time, make sure that he or she still has the passion to teach preschoolers. Ideally, the teachers should be happy and love working with preschoolers

Anything over 1 teacher to 12 students is too high. During the tour, check to see if the teachers are within their stated teacher-to-student ratio.

Snack, Books or Puzzles, Clean Up, Outside Play, Sharing, Small Group Time, Prepare to Go Home, Line Up, Sing Goodbye Song. One day each week has a visit to the library or includes physical education are daily schedule and as well benefit learning for Childs.

Many people have preconceived ideas about social or emotional vs. academic development, but the teacher leading your child’s development is the most important factor.

The Kangaroo Kids Club (www.kkblr.com) is an exciting activity based integrated learning centre. It has been created to facilitate “action-based” knowledge in a fun-filled environment and to stimulate your child’s development in a variety of skill areas including language, physical, cognitive and social / emotional skills.

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

It's the same routine every morning, you wake the kids up, get them on the school bus, then go in for your morning coffee and think to yourself " I wish I would have graduated high school and went to college." Well now is the perfect opportunity to fulfill that dream. President Obama has made it possible for mothers to return to school and earn their college degrees with program designated to scholarships for moms.

Most community colleges have programs that will allow you to earn your GED while enrolled in college. They offer classes specifically for the GED that are taken in conjunction with college courses which allows you to begin the long awaited college class before you have a GED. Origin of the Universe

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

Science follows logic. Science believes in what can be proved. Science calls something a theory only if it can be replicated. Anything that is observed is not believed by science unless it can be observed again and again under the same circumstances. That is the basis of science. Science analyzes everything and then says that may be because of this, that happens. If it is proven science says that if this and that will happen.
These are called laws of science.

Singularity and laws of science-

While speaking of origin of universe scientists believe that in the beginning there was nothing. Not even space existed. What existed was singularity with zero dimensions. What existed before that singularity is not at all known. Please note that no body knows what existed before singularity. At zero time, the singularity started exploding. Let us not call it zero time but the minimum time that passed after zero. This explosion created all this mass in form of heavenly bodies that we observe. As these bodies traveled outward they created space. Therefore an infinite mass and energy was created from a point with zero dimensions called singularity. This is the origin of universe as believed now.

Will you believe this? This defies all the laws. Mainly the laws of conservation of mass and energy are violated here. But cosmologists have no other theory to explain about the origin of universe. At the time of Big bang the energy produced was so much that even today the stars are traveling outward defying gravity. Nothing is stopping. Everything is expanding. It is the expanding universe. You may find this difficult to believe but this is happening. That is why most of the scientists who study the universe and what it is, start thinking of god. Because nothing else can explain about how the universe originated.

How space was created?

When we look around us we take the space for granted. We know that space is the distance between tow objects. Or what lies between two objects. As things are scattered in the world there is space that occupies that. It is true for outer space that lies between tow stars. This space is three-dimensional. Was this space there since eternity? Who created the space? If no object is left in the cosmos what would happen to the space? Will it still remain? How Space Was Created?

We know that at the time of Big bang everything exploded out of a point called singularity. What most of us do not realize is that at that time there was no space. There was only this single point in the cosmos and nothing else. It is difficult to imagine and understand, isn't it?

As the mass and energy exploded out space was created. At this time there are billions of stars that are running away from us. The universe is expanding. This is creating more and more space. What lies beyond this space? Is there another cosmos/universe or more space? No body knows the answer to this question. According to Einstein one can never reach the edge of the space. This space is something like the surface of the earth. There are no edges. It folds on itself. So if you start looking or the edge of the space you will come back from where you began. Of course the distances are so vast that it is impossible for any mortal to think of doing this. Billions of light years make a very huge distance. This distance is unimaginable.

Next time you look at the sky begin thinking about the space, the stars and what lies beyond everything. You will forget your problems at home and work because you will feel you are so small compared to what is happening out there.

Interesting Trivia on our Universe

Thursday, September 17th, 2009

One light year: this is probably the only measure of distance that is pegged on a second albeit static component, the speed of light. Distances between celestial bodies are so huge that using conventional measures of distance that we are so used to would prove difficult to conceptualize. Can you imagine a distance of 9,460,730,472,580.8 kilometers? Mind numbing would be the term! A light year is the distance that light travels in one year. Remember that light travels at a speed of approximately 299,792 km per second. Even looking at the distance light travels in one day in kilometers can be overwhelming and hence, the use of light years as a measure of the vast distances in the universe.

The Earth is one of nine planets that form the Solar System, so called because the sun, the source of solar energy, is the central point around which all the planets revolve. So far, scientists have not been able to establish or prove the existence of life forms on any other planet within the solar system. Often, the search for other life forms has focused on looking at the climatic conditions of the celestial body in question. Of course, the assumption here is that life forms on any other planet would require roughly the same type of conditions as life on earth, such as light, oxygen and water, to survive. This may or may not be true.

Other than the sun, no other celestial body significantly affects the earth as the moon does. It is well know that the moon affects the rise and fall of the ocean tide. Such is the effect of the gravitational pull between the earth and the moon. Jupiter is easily the largest planet in our solar system. To put its size in context, Jupiter is more than 300 times the mass of Earth. Here is the interesting part; Jupiter has 63 moons that orbit it and yet it is not the planet in the Solar System with the most moons. That honor belongs to the ringed-planet Saturn, which has 66 moons identified so far. Pluto, the farthest flung among the nine planets, has been the subject of heated debate on whether it really qualifies to be considered a planet. Nowadays, it is classified as a dwarf planet. Its orbit around the Sun is somewhat heavily elliptical. In fact, there are instances where Pluto is actually closer to the Sun than Neptune, the planet that precedes it.

Now speaking of size within the Solar System, well, let us just say that the Sun is unmatched. Did you know that the Sun comprises more than 99% of the total mass of the entire solar system? Jupiter actually takes up much of the remaining proportion. Surface temperatures on the Sun stand at 5000 Kelvins (4727 degrees Celsius). With temperatures at its core reaching a 15.6 million Kelvins (15.6 million Celsius), the Sun is truly a celestial spectacle. It gets even better when one realizes that the Sun is classified as a class G star. Stars are classified in six major categories that tie in to the surface temperature and brightness. The categories are M, K, G, F, A, B and O listed in ascending order brightness and surface temperature. You can see that the Sun falls on the lower end of this classification. Category B and O are rare in the universe while most stars are in the category M and emit less heat and light energy. That said, the Sun is within the 90th percentile by mass among all stars. We have found other stars that are larger than our sun: one is estimated to be approximately 60,000 times bigger.

The Solar System forms a tiny part of the Milky Way Galaxy, a vast conglomeration of stars and planets. What makes astronomy so thrilling is that despite its size, the Milky Way is not the only galaxy in the universe. There are hundreds of billions of galaxies out there, probably more. The closest galaxy to our own Milky Way is Andromeda. Now, brace yourself for the distance: it is 2.3 million light years away. One of the most exciting phenomena for astronomers is the black hole. It is an area of the universe where the concentration of mass is so massive (no pun intended) that the gravitational pull it generates sucks in everything around it. Everything includes light. Remember that the escape velocity for any object in the universe is the speed required to escape the objects gravitational pull. The escape velocity for the Earth is slightly over 11 kilometers per hour while for the Moon is 2.5 kilometers per second. Well for a black hole, the escape velocity exceeds the speed of light. That is how strong the pull is.

Sun jewelry, moon jewelry and star jewelry are wonderful ways to let others know how much you enjoy learning these facts.

Alleviating poverty in sub-Saharan

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Millions of people in Africa are living far below the breadline. They eke out an existence, some not living anymore from day to day, but rather from hour to hour. Is it not ironic to think that these people are living in some of the richest parts of the world.

Just think about places like the DRC (Democratic Republic of the Congo) where some of the richest diamond and copper can be found. Zimbabwe, where platinum, gold, copper and many other commodities are in abundance and major investors would give their front teeth to step in if given half the chance. Yet, these are the countries that where most of the conflicts exist. It is also the areas where 95% of its people don't even know what lies beneath the land they walk on. Should they get taught that installing a machine to do their work or get a better method of extracting a product, they might see an overnight change in their lives.

Why must the riches belong to any government, who will never be able to provide for its people? Why do all governments forever promise to create jobs and never succeed, while almost everyone can work for him/herselves if given the opportunity?

Just imagine if one of these countries totally forget about military expansion and use these millions instead on employing the best expert consultants whose only task is to find ways and guide its citizens on how to "toil-the -earth" so to speak in order to extract these minerals. That is, of course, if these minerals can be extracted easily, which again is possible in most areas.

A typical example, is the Garempiros in the jungle of South America where gold was discovered. Every man there works for himself but the mineral wealth belongs to all. Day after day, in wet or hot conditions, these labourers carry the ore from the bottom of pits in bags, climbing up steep ladders to a central point where the ore is being worked and the gold extracted. Think how much more they can do with expert advice and machinery!

One needs to realise what the impact only one ton of these high-prized commodities has in monetary value. The answer lies in expert advice which must come from developed nation Governments.

Is There a Difference in the Taste of Cigars from Other Countries?

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Lighting a cigar and drawing in that rich and full flavor is one of the most satisfying feelings in the world for a cigar smoker. Everything about the pastime of cigar smoking is a treat, from the various cutters you use to the lighters that you choose to fire up your favorite cigar. Another great aspect of cigar smoking is the sheer amount of choices that you have when it comes to cigars. From aromatic blends to tobaccos from around the world, you can find something that will appeal to everyone. Something that many people often wonder when they first start smoking cigars is if there is a difference in the taste of cigars from other countries. The answer is a resounding yes.

What is it that makes cigars crafted from tobaccos from different regions taste different? The differences in taste are attributable to many different factors. One of the biggest factors that you are going to find is the soil. Because tobacco is a plant, it grows from the soil. The composition of the soil, including the chemical makeup, will cause differences in taste. Some soil is more acidic, while others are more alkaline. This can change the taste of the tobacco, as well as how smooth or harsh the tobacco is. Yet, this is just one of the many reasons that tobacco can taste different.

The way in which the tobacco is cured after harvest has a lot to do with the taste as well. You will be able to find air cured and fire cured tobacco. The way in which a manufacturer cures the tobacco varies from region to region, and this can have an impact on the taste. Aging of the tobacco, as well as any added flavors that a manufacturer might add, are also factors that can determine the taste variances.

The ring gauge, or the diameter of the cigar, is another factor. Even when you have cigars from the same area, and even with the same wrapper, you can find taste differences dependent on the ring gauge. Larger cigars, those with a large diameter, often have a flavor considered "full".

You should take some time to sample tobaccos from around the world to see what they offer. You might be surprised and find something that you like that comes from an unexpected place. Some popular types of cigar for you to try are those from Jamaica and Honduras.

Benefits of First Aid certification

Monday, September 14th, 2009

While we all hope that we are never in a life threatening situation it is very important to know what to do should one arise.  First Aid Certification as well as CPR certification can provide you with the skills you need to react with confidence in life-threatening situations.  There are several online certification programs that offer certification in a variety of emergency skills.  One important thing to look out for is that the material is up-to-date.  The rules and regulations that govern safety training change fairly regularly and it is important that you are receiving the most up to date training possible.

How long does your certification last?  Well it often depends on what you get certified in.  For example, if you were to get a CPR certification it usually lasts about 2 years.  It is also important to have proof of your First Aid Certification so you should receive some sort of certificate or certification card upon completion of your certification course.  This certificate can be used to show your certification when you apply for jobs that require emergency skills as part of the job requirement.  Even with all this it is a good idea to choose a company with a money back guarantee, so that if for any reason you are not satisfied with the training you receive you can get your money back.  That shows that the training company is confident in their training materials.

If you receive your CPR certification you will learn about a number of things including the Good Samaritan laws, which protect people from liability if they choose to help someone who is injured or ill.  The course will also teach you the different ways to administer CPR depending on if the recipient is an adult, child, or infant.  All this good CPR information is combined with important First Aid Certification information like how to control bleeding, and how to care for a person who has suffered shock.  For example, if you are trying to stop bleeding it is a good idea to apply pressure directly to the wound with a gauze pad, which promotes the coagulation of the blood.

First Aid Certification also teaches you more, like how to care for burns and poisoning.  It is important to soak a burn in cold water and then apply some type of soothing ointment to the burn.  Taking some sort of over-the counter pain reliever is also a good idea.  The CPR certification will teach you how to put someone in the proper recovery position in order to help the person breathe and to drain fluid away from the person's nose and throat if an unconscious victim were to vomit.

Whether First Aid Certification is something that you want to receive for personal reasons or it is training that you want to provide on a corporate level it is a good idea to keep in mind all your options including the option to receive your certification online.  It is also very easy to receive specialty certification through an online certification program, like CPR certification.  Whether in a business setting or just personal reasons you can be prepared for life-threatening emergency situations.

First Aid Certification is a very useful kind of training to receive. Specialized certification such as CPR certification is of immense value as it helps people to be prepared for life-threatening emergencies.
